End User License Agreement (EULA)

1. Acceptance

By installing, activating, copying, or using the Software, you (“you”, “Licensee”) agree to be bound by the terms of this Agreement. If you do not agree to the terms of this Agreement, do not install or use the Software.

2. Definitions

• “Trial” means a time-limited evaluation period (currently 30 days) granted on first use of the Software.
• “License Key” means the alphanumeric string code (format: QBQO-XXXX-XXXX-XXXX-XXXX) issued by Dugong that unlocks commercial editing rights.
• “Term License” means a license valid for a fixed time period (1, 2, 3, 4 or 5 years) per the key you purchased.
• “Perpetual License” means a non-expiring license for the major version for which it was issued.
• “Activation” means the process that binds a License Key cryptographically to a single Device.
• “Device” means a single physical computer, identified by a hardware fingerprint hash.

3. License Grant

Subject to your compliance with this Agreement and payment of applicable fees, Dugong grants you a non-exclusive, non-transferable license to install and use the Software:

• (a) Trial: for evaluation only, for the Trial period, after which document editing features become unavailable until you activate a License Key.
• (b) Term License: on one (1) Device for the purchased term (1, 2, 3, 4 or 5 years). When the term ends, editing features become unavailable until renewed.
• (c) Perpetual: on one (1) Device, without expiry, for the licensed major version.

This is a license, not a sale, of the commercial software packaging and licensing distribution.

4. Activation, Device Binding & Transfer

• The Software activates online via api.qboqo.com. Activation binds your License Key to one Device.
• One key = one Device. A key already active on another Device will be refused.
• You may move your license to another Device by deactivating it on the first Device (Help ▸ Activate Qboqo… ▸ Deactivate), which frees the key for reuse.
• After activation the Software works offline; it re-validates periodically and may require occasional internet access to confirm the license remains valid.

5. Trial Policy

The Trial is provided “as is” for evaluation. On expiry, the Software switches to a non-destructive read-only mode (you can open, view, and print documents, but not edit or save new changes) until a valid License Key is activated.

6. Restrictions

You shall not: (a) resell, sublicense, rent, or redistribute License Keys or the commercial Software product except as expressly authorized in writing; (b) circumvent, disable, or tamper with the licensing/activation mechanism; (c) share a single-Device license across multiple Devices simultaneously; (d) remove or alter Dugong's trademarks or product branding from the product as distributed (this does not restrict your rights in the open-source components — see Section 8).

7. Ownership

Dugong (and its licensors) retain all rights, title, and interest in the Qboqo branding, commercial product packaging, licensing system, and proprietary additions. Underlying open-source components remain owned by their respective authors under their respective licenses.

9. Updates & Support

Dugong provides software maintenance and updates per active subscription terms. Technical support is provided via support@qboqo.com.

10. Privacy & Data Telemetry

To deliver licensing, the Software transmits to api.qboqo.com: an irreversible hardware device fingerprint hash, your License Key, and standard IP metadata. The Software does NOT collect or transmit the contents of your documents or files.

11. Disclaimer of Warranty

THE SOFTWARE IS PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE”, WITHOUT WARRANTY OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.

12. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, DUGONG SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES. DUGONG'S TOTAL AGGREGATE LIABILITY SHALL NOT EXCEED THE AMOUNT PAID FOR THE LICENSE IN THE 12 MONTHS PRECEDING THE CLAIM.

13. Term & Termination

This Agreement is effective until terminated. It terminates automatically if you fail to comply with any of its terms or upon expiry of your licensed term without renewal.

14. Governing Law & Jurisdiction

This Agreement is governed by the laws of India. The courts of Gurugram, Haryana, India shall have exclusive jurisdiction over any disputes.
