Add the cloud when you want it. Never because you have to.

Qboqo has always run on your PC, offline, with your files on your own disk. That does not change. Qboqo Space and Qboqo Online sit beside it: storage you can share from, and a browser editor you can reach from someone else’s machine. You switch them on only if they earn their place.

Where Qboqo runs

Try the switches

  • Desktop appsAll nine apps on your PC, offlineAlways on
  • Qboqo SpaceStorage, sharing, calendars, tasks and webmail
  • Qboqo OnlineScrib, Tables, Present and Draw in a browser tab

Nothing is stored online. This is how most customers run Qboqo.

Three places your work can live.

Pick one, two or all three. The first keeps working whatever happens to the others.

On your PC

Scrib, Tables, Present, Draw, Database, Formula, Mail, Notes and Connect. Native, installed, and fully usable with the network cable pulled out.

  • No account needed to open a document
  • Files stay on your disk
  • Included in every licence

Qboqo Space

Storage you control, with sharing, calendars, tasks and webmail. Your desktop apps open and save to it directly, with one sign-in and nothing to configure.

  • Open and save from Scrib, Tables and Present
  • Share a file or a folder with a link
  • Mail, calendar and tasks in one place

Qboqo Online

Scrib, Tables, Present and Draw in a browser tab, for the times you are not at your own machine. Same formats, same documents, nothing to install.

  • Edit from a borrowed or managed PC
  • Several people in one document
  • Opens the files you already have
Database and Formula are desktop only. Equation editing and the database tools are not part of Qboqo Online. Better to say so here than have you find out after moving a project into a browser.

Qboqo Space

Somewhere to put the files other people need.

A shared drive, a calendar, a task list and a mailbox, reachable from the desktop apps you already run. Connecting takes one button: you approve it once in your browser and the PC is joined. There is no server address to type and no password to copy.

  • Open Remote in Scrib, Tables or Present connects in a single step
  • Share with people inside your organisation, or with a link to someone outside it
  • View-only sharing, so a link cannot become an edit
  • Per-user storage limits and an admin view of who has what
  • Calendars and tasks that your desktop Mail app can sync against
  • Webmail, so a mailbox is reachable without the desktop app
  • Standards-based access (WebDAV) with per-device passwords you can revoke individually

What the admin gets

One place for accounts
Single sign-on across Space, Mail and Connect, with two-step verification available.
Files scanned on the way in
Uploads are checked for malware and quarantined rather than passed on.
Retention you set
Choose how long deleted items and audit records are kept, per organisation.
Legal hold and export
Freeze an account’s content and export it when you have to produce it.
A readable audit trail
Who signed in and who shared what, exportable as CSV.

Qboqo Online

For the machine that isn’t yours.

A locked-down work laptop, a client’s meeting room, a shared desk. Qboqo Online opens the document in a browser tab so the trip is not wasted, and it is the same file, in the same format, that your desktop apps use.

  • The four you need away from your desk

Scrib for documents, Tables for spreadsheets, Present for slides, Draw for diagrams.

  • More than one person at once

Open the same document together and see each other’s changes, rather than mailing versions around.

  • No install, no admin rights

Useful exactly where you cannot install anything, which is most machines that are not your own.

A browser is the fallback, not the plan. Our speed comparison is blunt about what a browser suite costs you in speed and memory, and that is still true here. Qboqo Online exists so you are never stuck. The desktop apps are still where the work should happen.

The internet going down is not your problem.

This is the part we will not trade away. Adding Space or Online does not put a network check in front of your documents. If the connection drops, or you never wanted one, the desktop suite behaves exactly as it does today.

  • Documents on your disk open with no account and no connection
  • A lapsed cloud subscription never locks a file you already have
  • A perpetual licence stays perpetual for the desktop apps
  • No document contents are sent anywhere for analytics

What we do with what you upload.

Where your data is stored, who can process it and how long it is kept are set out in the privacy policy. Business customers also receive a data processing agreement. Read both before you move anything confidential.

Getting in
One account across Space, Mail and Connect, with two-step verification. Per-device passwords for anything connecting over WebDAV, each revocable on its own without disturbing the others.
In transit and at rest
Encrypted in transit. Server storage sits on encrypted volumes, and backups are encrypted before they leave the machine.
Malicious files
Uploads and mail attachments are scanned, and anything flagged is quarantined rather than delivered.
Keeping and removing
Retention periods you set per organisation, legal hold when you need content frozen, export when you need it produced, and an exportable audit trail throughout.

How this is sold.

Desktop, as before

Term licences of one to five years, or perpetual. Nine applications. Unchanged by anything on this page.

Cloud as an addition

Space and Online are added to a licence, per user. A licence can be issued without them, and many are.

Perpetual is desktop

A perpetual key does not include Qboqo Online, because a hosted service costs us money every month that a one-off payment cannot cover. We say so now so nobody finds out at renewal.

Before you ask sales.

Still unsure? Email support@qboqo.com with your licence key and we will tell you what it includes.

No. The desktop suite is complete on its own and most customers run it that way. Nothing on this page is switched on unless you ask for it.

Files on your own PC are unaffected: they are your files on your disk. Content held in Space is subject to the retention period set for your organisation, so export it before the account closes. The desktop applications keep working either way.

For documents, spreadsheets, slides and drawings, yes. Database and Formula are desktop only. We would still point you to the desktop apps: a native application starts in well under a second and a browser tab does not.

In transit, yes. On the server it sits on encrypted volumes, and backups are encrypted before they leave the machine. This is not end-to-end encryption: to open a document in a browser, the server has to be able to read it. If that is unacceptable for a particular file, keep that file on the desktop.

Talk to us. It is the usual request from organisations that cannot place content with a third party at all, and it is the right answer to that constraint.

Only if it was issued with it. Keys record which products they grant, so the quickest answer is to sign in and look, or send us the key and we will tell you.
